reformed blogs

This is a list of helpful Reformed blogs. The purpose of this page is to provide a list of solid Reformed resources, as well as to develop a directory of Reformed bloggers and content creators. To submit another blog to this list, fill out the form at the bottom, here.

Note: The authors of these blogs vary in their beliefs. They would all affirm the five Solas of the Reformation, but they differ in what they believe concerning historic confessions like the Westminster Confession of Faith and the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith.

9Marks

Website: https://www.9marks.org/

At 9Marks, we help pastors, future pastors, and church members see what a biblical church looks like, and to take practical steps for becoming one. Our goal is to see churches characterized by nine biblical marks of a healthy church. Why these nine? Because sadly, they’re too often assumed or ignored in evangelical churches.

Confessional Outhouse

Website: https://confessionalouthouse.wordpress.com/

I rather conceive of the Outhouse to be a place of rumination and reflection amongst nearly like-minded people where certain assumptions are in place. By like-minded I mean those who have been persuaded in confessional Reformed orthodoxy and take certain things for granted. The Outhouse is less interested in debating the finer points of confessional Reformed orthodoxy, like Calvinism (or popular contemporary controversies), and more interested in reflecting upon the broader implications of it in our day over against the implications of the larger Household (a concept explained below). Another forum might be better suitable for those who wish to join the cacophony of cracker-jack apologists, evangelists, theologians and social critics.

Covenant Nurture

Old Life

Website: https://oldlife.org/

The Reformed faith may not be as old as Rome or Constantinople, but its most reliable guideposts are—to put it bluntly—old. At the same time, many Reformed Protestants consider themselves conservative, a disposition that is also oriented to the past and conserving as much of it as possible. Old life indicates that the old things are actually valuable and capable of sustaining authentic Christian faith, and that historic Reformed Protestantism specifically embodies a piety as vigorous and alive as any of its rivals.

Trey Jasso

Website: https://treyjasso.com/

I’m an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). I enjoy writing as a way to help me and others think through certain subjects. I’m an avid reader of theology, apologetics, and church history.

I write and teach Reformed theology as it has a lot to offer the inquiring Christian and the observing world. I have found it to be helpful for the Christian to witness the linking all of the Scriptures together into the one theme, the person and work of Jesus Christ. I also find that our theology is helpful when thinking through life’s important and challenging questions. The theology of the Scriptures is not a philosophical and mental exercise that is disconnected from the life of the Christian. Rather I find that good theology is incredibly practical and offers great comfort in knowing more about God and understanding what God is doing in the world.

White Horse Inn

Website: https://www.whitehorseinn.org/blog/

In the late 1980s, Michael Horton (host of White Horse Inn and editor in chief of Modern Reformation) began an organization called Christians United for Reformation (CURE). CURE’s purpose was to remind American evangelicals of their biblical roots and the rich faith and practice recovered during the Protestant Reformation that had been largely abandoned in the mad dash to relevance. CURE didn’t represent just one denomination, but tried to include as many different Reformation voices in the conversation as possible. More than a ministry of one man or congregation, CURE drew on the wisdom of many to identify and correct the problems that plagued evangelical and Reformational churches, alike. One of the first efforts to broaden their influence came in 1990 with the launch of the weekly radio broadcast, White Horse Inn, with hosts Michael Horton, Kim Riddlebarger, and Rod Rosenbladt. [For more on why we chose the name White Horse Inn, click here.] In 1992, the organization began publishing a magazine, Modern Reformation, to apply timeless Christian doctrines to the questions of the day.
