Gordon Clark Refutes Bishop Berkeley, Empiricism (Wheaton Lectures)

From Clark and His Critics, published by the Trinity Foundation (page numbers are from the Apple Books e-book).

Incidental reference has already been made to Bishop Berkeley, one of whose chief points was the denial of abstract ideas. For him psychology made impossible the very existence of concepts. Thinking consisted only in a succession of individual images. Although Berkeley admits that we apply the same word to many images, calling them all man or horse, his theory makes no provision for collecting some images in a group and excluding others.
